WHO AM I
Christopher Kitchen is a photographer based in NYC but originally from Boston. His work experiments with unique photographic processes to recontextualize and examine day-to-day observations. He hopes viewers can share his curiosity.
My process is intuitive, personal, and exploratory. It always starts with a day-to-day observation. If it piques my interest, I develop a photographic process that hones in on my points of interest. Then, I experiment with the process and grapple with any questions or discoveries along the way. I love tinkering with new image-making methods, so I usually create a unique process that suits each project, rarely repeating. I don't create my work with any prescribed interpretation. Instead, I hope viewers join in my curiosity and find their own meaning in the work.
